Classification of adhesives

There are many types of adhesives with different functions, so there are a variety of classification methods; among them, there are classifications according to physical types, classifications according to chemical composition, and classifications according to usage and curing methods, etc., only classified by chemical composition as follows:

(1) Inorganic adhesives: silicate, phosphate, sulfate (gypsum), borate (fused glass), ceramics, zirconia, alumina, low melting point metals (lead, tin), etc.;

(2) Organic binder:

A Natural organic binder: starch, protein (soy protein, casein, bone glue, fish glue, shellac, etc.), natural resin (rosin, gum, lignin, etc.), natural rubber and latex, asphalt, etc.;

B Organic synthetic adhesive: thermosetting resin, thermoplastic resin, synthetic rubber, compound glue, etc.
