Adhesives can be added in two forms
Jul 12, 2021
1) The binder is added in the form of a solution. The binder is completely dissolved before adding the material. The viscosity of the solution affects the distribution of the binder in the mixture, and as the amount of material increases, the amount of the binder Therefore, if the amount of binder has an effect on the dissolution behavior of the tablet, the dissolution of small-scale batches and scale-up batches may be different.
In addition, when the binder solution is added, it is divided into static addition and dynamic addition. The uniformity of static addition is also worse than that of dynamic addition. If the material is easily soluble in the binder solution (or the viscosity is very high after encountering the binder) It is not recommended to add the adhesive statically when the material is large).
In dynamic addition, the atomized addition method can make the binder distribution more uniform than the non-atomized addition method, and the particle size of the prepared particles is also more uniform (of course, sometimes it is also related to the addition speed of the binder).
2) The adhesive is mixed with other materials in the form of dry powder, and then the wetting agent is added, the viscosity of the solution has the least influence on the distribution of the adhesive, and the amount of the adhesive can be accurately determined, reducing the change in the amount of the adhesive when the batch is enlarged Impact. However, the binder cannot be completely dissolved during the granulation process, and cannot play a good role in wetting and bonding. Therefore, the granulation effect may be affected.
3) The adhesive can be configured into an adhesive solution first (the amount of adhesive solution is less than the total amount of adhesive solution added). After the adhesive solution is added, a small amount of adhesive solution can be added according to the material state. Solvent. That is, the accurate amount of the adhesive can make the adhesive play a better bonding effect.
However, the amount of the final binder solvent should also be controlled, because during the granulation process, the material and the binder (wetting agent) are combined with each other to produce viscosity. With the change of the mixing intensity and mixing time, the material powder The degree of wetting and viscosity will change. This affects the hardness, compressibility, hardness, friability and dissolution behavior of the tablet.
